Event Information
UPitch is an inspiring pitch night for people to test drive their innovation or creation, gain support and compete to make their ideas a reality.
Finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their idea and concept in front of a panel of judges and senior members of University of Tasmania and receive mentoring, publicity, ongoing marketing opportunities and special custom-made trophies celebrating the inaugural event.
Key Information
Where: University of Tasmania, IMAS Hobart, 20 Castray Esplanade, Battery Point, Hobart, TAS 7004.
When: 5:30pm – 8:30pm Monday 15 October 2018.
Who: Entrepreneurs, students, designers, engineers, software developers, hackers, professionals, and anyone else interested in start-ups.
Free to enter and you can register as an Individual or as a team.
The Winning Prizes
The selected winner receives a trip to Sydney to compete in 'Pitch for a Million'
Pitch for a million is global event, with over 600+ start-ups from across the region will compete for the grand prize of $1 million dollars in investment*
The UPitch finalist will have the opportunity to win special custom-made trophies celebrating the inaugural event
Eligibility
All submissions must be published on Devpost by 1st of October.
The competition is open to all: students and members of the public. Contestants under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

How to enter
Video Submission
Entries must be published on Devpost, with a 3 minute pitch video 2018. Please include team name and list of team members (maximum of three per team).
You can enter as a team or individual on Eventbrite. Once you have registered you submit a project name and video onto Devpost.
How it Works
Step 1. Register via Eventbrite
Step 2. Submit a 3 minute pitch video to DevPost platform to qualify as a Pitcher
Step 3. Finalists are selected and will have a mentoring session where they practise their pitch on Friday, 12th October 2018
Step 4. Live Pitch, judges announce regional winners. The winning pitch will represent Tasmania and win a trip to Sydney to 'Pitch for a Million'. Please see the website for full details. Terms and conditions apply.
